Rothlisburger sandwiches are dope it has French fries on the sandwich it's not on their menu online, but I got the one with capicolla and my buddy got the one with roast beef. These sandwiches are huge you definitely won't leave hungry. The honey habanero wings were great!!! the wings themselves are some of the largest chicken wings I've seen. All together fair prices high quality bar food can't go wrong especially with the cute waitresses lol

We like Sonny's food and sitting outside but we never see a manager walking around checking things out or asking how our food is. Last time we sat on the deck we ate on the previous customers food that was left on the floor. I eventually cleaned up the floor since I don't eat at home with food on my floor. This is not the first time this as happened. If the manager walked around and looked at the restaurant I think this could be handled. The food is good so we keep going back.

Sonny's Grille is located in my old stomping grounds of BVA. The restaurant is located in a former LJS (Long John Silvers) and has some exterior notes that remind you of its history. So it is an ahoy ye matey and listen as I regale you about my recent experience at Sonny's Grille. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Atmosphere - Tropical theme, Basic table chairs, Waitresses in kind of short shorts, Outdoor deck eating available, a hint of LJS. Service - Somewhat attentive and cute waitresses wait on you. I was however disappointed w/ the frequency of the refills but the food arrived quickly and hot. Food - I had the fried zucchini appetizer to start. They come as flat, wide, planks w/ a very light tempura style breading. This was accompanied w/ tasty marinara sauce. For the main dish I ordered their signature crab cakes. These were very good. There was definitely more meat than filling and the crab tasted very fresh. The side of vegetables (carrots & green beans) were a little too oily for my liking but were none the less tasty. The side salad was basic w/ Italian dressing and the bread was basic but decent too. Price - $23.95 for the crab cake dish was a little high for two crab cakes and the types of associated sides. I would feel a few dollars less would be a better price point. The menu did have other items that were more reasonably priced. Over - Despite a few minor gripes...shiver me timbers...I will be back!!

I am rating this restaurant relative to all the others within a reasonable drive of Monongahela. Closer to Pittsburgh, Sonny's might be lost in a sea of more interesting competition but in an area where the major competitor is Hoss's, this place is wonderful. The menu offers something for everyone, from seafood to steak to salads and you can sit outside. The prices are a little high but, for me, it's not a weekly visit but a semimonthly diversion from the home kitchen.

My husband and I drove past this restaurant for a few years before finally stopping for dinner. And were we glad we did! The prices are comparable to other bar & grille type restaurants where we've eaten and I think the food is a little above the rest. We've never had a bad dinner whether it's a full course meal or a sandwich or a grilled chicken salad (huge). The bread they use on their sandwiches is delicious. As for the freshly baked loaf of bread that accompanies a dinner - well, I could just open my purse and bring it home!! I didn't realize it used to be occupied by a Long John Silver's - but that certainly explains the decor. Every time we drive into the parking lot, I tell my husband I feel like I'm at the beach. Just the ocean and sea gulls are missing! I say if you're in the Belle Vernon area and are looking for a very casual restaurant with good food, try Sonny's Grille!

Recommended by the lady at the hotel front desk - and she was right. Started right with Blue Cheese dressing having nice big chunks of blue cheese. Blackened salmon was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Just right for the road warrior.

Just OK. I was visiting from Baltimore when I stopped at this little place. It was really all this town had to offer. Service was pretty bad, and I had to wait on my food for at least 25 min from the time I placed the order. I had the cheese and pepper topped chicken breast. The chicken was overcooked but edible. The cheese was burned, but still tasted OK. Maybe because I was starved. Needless to say I will be taking a drive to find something better tomorrow. May be good for the locals but not for me.....

This restaurant is a hit or miss. Food is generally good but if it is busy be prepared for a wait. I have had great food here and I have also had awful experiences. Not a lot of restaurants that serve beer in the area so I will keep going back. Hope for a hit when you go.

Sonny's has really good food and great service. Love the thin crust pizza. Flavorful salads with awesome homemade Italian dressing. It's a great place to unwind after work plus the attract a really nice local crowd. The place has been completely remodeled over the past few years and is one of Belle Vernon's finest. The owners are great guys plus I love their Mother!!!

The pittsburgh style steak and cheese is good. The service today was really super friendly but slow. I asked for a side of mayo and got a side of ranch. I hate to complain or make corrections so I made the best of it. The kids like their Pittsburgh Kielbasa sandwiches which is a plus. I didn't see a desert menu but that shouldn't suggest they don't have one. After I forgive myself for all I consumed today, I will return to ask.

I've been there twice now in two weeks. Before that, I drove past twice a day and never thought of going in because the outside looks like a fast food place to me. I was shocked the first time there! The food was great. So far we had the salmon, chicken parm, chicken alfredo and beef tenderloin pasta, homemade chips and potato soup. It was very good, we will be back.

There are not a lot of restaurant choices in the area beyond fast food joints. This is a popular place. Service is proactive and friendly. It was busy the weeknight I went so there was a time gap between my salad and my entree arriving. Not a huge wait, but longer than expected. The waitress kept me informed, which is nice. Food was good. I had a steak with vegetables. The veggies had LOTS of garlic - more than necessary to my taste buds. Overall, good option.

I have been here twice now. This time I had yummy buff chicken dip and a rachel (like a reuben but not). The food has been very good. My husband got ribs which he said were just okay. My only issue here is with the bathroom. It was by far the grossest bathroom I have probably ever been in my entire life, and have been in many horrible restrooms. It was very dirty and gross. From now on I will just hold it.

This place is very hit or miss in my experience. We have had some good meals but more often than not we are having a terrible one. Last time we went during a weeknight and waited almost an hour for our food (there was no wait)! The server seemed too busy to handle our table and forgot to bring many things throughout the dinner. I asked for extra napkins twice before going up to the bar and finally getting them myself! I'm not going back based on how unpredictable service and food quality is there.

This is a great place! I wasn't expecting such a great meal and service in this neck of the woods. When in Belle Vernon this is the place. They have a sort of unique take on pub food. I can't quite nail it down(buffalo pierogis? homemade potato chips with your choice of flavoring, Great crab cakes!), but everything's made with care. Nice patio for good weather. This is the "anti chain restaurant."

The Sony's sandwich is to die for, for the location it is the best place to eat. Worth a quick side trip off the interstate, if you are in the area

This is my first time ever posting anything on yelp. Usually there are a million opinions that say enough. I decided to try this place since it had a few good reviews, but to me in this small town that usually means it is ok... I was so surprised. Great environment and atmosphere. The outside looks like a great place when the weather is good. I was expecting more of a sports bar atmosphere... Because of the name, and I guess that made my expectation for the food too... It is actually a little quaint environment type restaurant.. I tried the cheese sticks since they described them so tasty, and I gave up on cheese sticks a long time ago... They were very very goid. I asked about the pizza, waitress said it was great, no lie. It was one of the better pizza I have had. Chic cake for dessert also great. All seems homemade by a very talented cook. Not at all what I expected!!

Draft beers are in small glass, w head it ends up being 8oz. Not great. Crab cakes are good but for $16 I expect lore than a small scoop of crab and some dry rice. Seems few good choices for restaurants in Belle Vernon

One of the nicest places in the area. The food is good but the portions are small and you will pay for every exrta...things that are often included at other places you will be charged for here. Still, the food is good. Lots of chatting between the staff but they do a decent job. This place does well because it is located near a lot of fast food places which makes it stand out. Sunday brunch is very good for a couple but I would not bring the family. Menu is limited ....which I suppose is by design.
